Vacationers come to Corfu, Kerkyra in greek, since 1940, so it is one of the most visited Greek islands. Some find the island too busy during the summer months and in fact many years of touring have left their mark.
Nevertheless, the greenery and scenery are outstanding, and the island is wonderful to go and explore. That the island has extraordinary architecture and nature can not be doubted.

Empress Elizabeth of Austria had a palace, yarrow, and next emperor, Wilhelm II bought it later. Today the building is
a casino and hotel, but the former King Constantine is trying to get it back, and of course this is a topic that triggers major controversy in Greece. Many international stars and celebrities spend their vacations here.
